For long-term storage, champagne is best stored laying on its side in a cool, dark place with consistent temperature (ideally between 10–13 °C; max 15 °C) and humidity.
If you are faced with the problem of not being able to finish a bottle, it can be kept fresh in the fridge for a day or two with a champagne stopper.
Opening a bottle of champagne always has an element of ceremony, but it should be a quiet, smooth and safe process. There is considerable pressure in a bottle of champagne (corks have been measured erupting at speeds of up to 80 km/h!), so it is very important to hold the cork securely once the wire cage is loosened and until the cork has been safely eased out.

When polishing, use Sally Hillman’s microfibre polishing cloth: a luxurious and specialised accessory boasting a generous size to buff and boost brilliance for that final touch of stemware sophistication. Lint-free, scratch-free, odour-free and easy to clean, Sally Hillman’s signature polishing cloth is complimentary with every Lehmann Glass set of 6.
Avoid using fabric softener to clean your polishing cloths because synthetic fragrances and residue may be left on the glass.
All Lehmann glasses are now also dishwasher safe.
If you are not cleaning your glasses right away, put a bit of water in the glass so that stains do not become hard to clean later.

We remain in close contact via SMS/email throughout the entire packing, shipping and delivery process for all orders.
No, we do not provide a chilled delivery service, as champagne is best stored in a cool, dark place with consistent temperature and humidity. We recommend only putting your bottle of champagne in the refrigerator when you are very close to serving it; allow it to gradually chill for 2–3 hours. Alternatively, the best way to chill your champagne is in an ice bag, ice bucket or ice basin.
We always provide a tracking number for parcels couriered through Australia Post and our partners.
No, unattended delivery is not available for champagne packages as they must be signed for by someone 18 years or older.
Melbourne Metro: We will liaise directly with you to ensure someone will be able to sign for your champagne parcel or champagne gift on a suitable delivery date. For Lehmann Glass orders, unattended delivery is only possible if you authorise it with us prior to delivery.
Regional VIC and Interstate: Australia Post requires a signature upon delivery. However, if no-one is home, the driver will leave a card for you to collect your parcel at your local Post Office. For all other couriers, a re-deliver card will be left for you to coordinate the most suitable time for collection with the courier.
No, we do not deliver to PO Box or RMB.
