Cartography

In her typically innovative way, Sally decided to create a unique map to illustrate the diversity of the Champagne appellation d’origine controlee (AOC). Working in close consultation with a cartographer, she created la carte – the cornerstone of the Sally Hillman experience. The aim of the maps is to demystify Champagne and make the appellation more understandable using a visual approach. Each region is colour-coded, with the actual vineyards marked in a darker shade. The hues of each region suggest the season best reflected in each region’s champagne style.

The Sally Hillman maps of the Champagne regions are comprehensive and clearly articulate the different terroirs of Champagne. As well as being attractive works of art, they are educational guides to choosing champagnes to suit the season or create perfect food pairings. The maps come in two sizes - A1 (594 x 841mm) and A3 (297 x 420mm) – and are printed on high quality 200gsm satin finish paper stock. They can be purchased individually, or as the complete set of six.
