Georges Laval is a fourth-generation family run house, based in the village of Cumières. Vincent Laval, the winemaker since 1996, fosters a natural approach towards wine production and ageing.
This small House produces a very limited quantity, 9 000 bottles in total; all impeccably crafted and wine-like with a rich intensity.
Situated in the village of Cumières is on the right bank of the Marne River, four kilometres from Épernay and at the western edge of the Grande Vallée. With only 2.5 hectares of chalk rich soil, and an emphasis on minimal interference winemaking the resultant champagnes are a great reflection of their terroir.
Vincent Laval also appeared in the recent documentary about Champagne, “Absolutely Champers” with Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley.
Laval champagnes are harmonious enough to lend themselves to the diversity of flavour that starts to reappear in Spring produce.
