A generous and balanced blanc de noirs from 100% pinot noir. The Champenois say a magnum is the superior choice. With twice the volume of a standard bottle and the same neck size, there is less exposure to air and the champagne matures more slowly. Produced using 100% pinot noir grapes, this champagne is a blanc de noirs (white wine made from black grapes). Based on the current vintage, with some reserve wines added from previous vintages, it is aged for six years on lees and has 8g/L dosage.
In essence, and putting the colour aside, this is like drinking an elegant pinot noir. It tastes of ripe cherry, plum, strawberry and raspberry, alongside mixed spice and gingernut biscuits, with a long finish and subtly refined mousse.
Enjoy with a delicious charcuterie platter.
